The beautiful Cotswold village of Lacock is the star of many a film and TV series with some buildings dating back as far as the 13th century. (See photo below)
Like many other Cotswold towns and villages Lacock owed its prosperity in the middle ages to the wool trade.

The buildings of Lacock like the cottage above are much in demand for the film and TV industry.
Among its credits are the very successfull 1995 TV series of Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Moll Flanders,
a couple of Harry Potter films, the TV series of Cranford and many more.

                                                                 Lacock Abbey.

Lacock Abbey was founded in the 13th century but around 1540 was converted into a splendid country house.
It was purchased by the photographic pioneer William Henry Fox Talbot 1800-1877 and exhibitons of his
photographs are on display. It was given to the National trust in 1944 by Fox Talbot's descendants.
