Bishops Castle is a pretty town in Shropshire not far from the Welsh border.
It is surrounded by lovely countryside and is very rural.
Access to Bishops Castle is by A roads and country lanes which give the area a tranquil air.

Each year Bishops Castle holds a Michaelmas fair and the town has plenty of entertainment.
There is a procession through the main street and the roads leading off are a hive of activity.
The fair at Bishops Castle was held this year on September 20 and the 21st with several bands, children's entertainment, steam engines and a classic car & motorbike exhibition held in parkland just off Bishop Castle's main street.

Bishops Castle on the day of the Michaelmas fair is a fun day out, but it is a good place to visit anytime. It has many individual shops, a post office, grocery stores, cafes and pubs serving good food and drink. It even has its own brewery!
