                                                                                                                           Clent Hills, Worcestershire.

The Clent Hills in Worcestershire are a wonderful area for walkers, horse riders, joggers, mountain bikers or simply somewhere to get away from it all.
The Clent Hills are very accessible from Birmingham, Halesowen & Stourbridge and is not far from Juctions 3 and 4 of the M5.
The Villages of Clent and Bellbroughton provide a pretty setting for a meal and/or a drink with excellent pubs providing a good service at a variety of price ranges.
I will be writing reviews in the future on the Pubs, Restaurants and other amenities in the Clent Hills area but for now here are some you may like to try.

The Bell at Bellbroughton: Serves up good food at a reasonable price with polite staff.

A sunday lunch at the Bell at Bellbroughton which is usually a good experience but sad to  say on this occasion not up to its normal standard. My wife had the roast turkey with seasonal vegetables
which was very good and was certainly the meal to have chosen. I opted for the luxury fishermans pie which
I found a little disappointing, the topping was hard and the pie appeared to have been cooked and heated up.
I also found the vegetables to be too hard and not enough. The dessert was very good though and I consider
this to be a blip as the Bell in the past has served some decent enough meals.

The French Hen, Clent: Good food, reasonable prices and family friendly.
An ideal place for Sunday lunch. The french Hen is located on the Bromsgrove Road,Clent. DY9 9PY. Tel No 01562 883040.

We had Sunday lunch at the French Hen which was a very enjoyable experience,we were greeted by a friendly waitress and shown to our table. I had the roast beef with potatoes, carrots, broccoli and roast potatoes and my wife had the roast lamb. The roast Beef was tender and the portion generous while my wife thought the Lamb to be quite succulent. We opted for what turned out to be a very drinkable Merlot and finished our meal with a dessert. I chose the delicate tasty Chocolate Torte, my wife opted for a delicious Strawberry Cheesecake. Our meal was enhanced by the friendly and attentive staff which rounded off an excellent Sunday lunch in Clent.

The Bell and Cross, Clent. A pub with atmosphere and good food.

Our visit was on a Sunday lunchtime and the place was very full even though the menu is a little more expensive than some other pubs and restaurants in the area.
We took that as a good sign and decided to wait. The pub is made up of several small rooms which added to
its welcoming feel.
It was only about ten minutes before we were called to our table and our main course of Roast Beef with creamed potatoes, carrots, brocolli and the best tasting roast potatoes I've had in a long time. The Beef was succulent and the vegetables were just to my liking.
I had a couple of glasses of very nice Cabernet/merlot and my wife settled for a glass of Beck's.
For dessert she had the lemon tart which tasted fine but her only criticism was that the portion could have been a little larger.
I opted for the Dark chocolate and banana Eton mess, delicious.
The bill came to £47.35 for two, not the cheapest of Sunday lunches but the food was of a very high standard.
